Review
"Media Today is the best textbook to understand the organization, economics, and emerging trends within the U.S. media sector. Its institutional focus and the level of detail and updated knowledge it provides in this regard makes it the best textbook for an introductory media course."—Gisela Gil-Egui, Fairfield University
"What makes Media Today especially stand out is the extra attention to the dynamics of the ever-changing media industries. Joe Turow's book offers a nuanced, comprehensive and accessible treatment of how economic incentives and current trends in media matter for us and our democracy."—Matt McAllister, Pennsylvania State University
"Media Today engages students and serves as a helpful guide to our new media-saturated world. The writing is lively and concise, and the colorful illustrations are full of zest. Turow’s dry wit engages students in a conversational narrative that prompts them to connect what they read to their own experience of contemporary media trends."—Edward M. Clift, Woodbury University
"Media Today skillfully weaves together all the core components needed for an introductory media course: basics of media literacy and criticism, details about a wide range of the most current media, and an uncommonly thorough integration of the functioning of media industries. Accessible and smart in its writing style and full of useful illustrations and tables, Media Today, is not only up-to-date in its information, but its perspective prepares the future of media studies."—Amanda Lotz, University of Michigan

Who edited this kindle version?
By Lola Says
This bad review is not about the book itself, just specifically the kindle edition. The kindle version of this book is full of typos. For every page there is at least one misspelled word. Words like "avid" are spelled "avoid" instead and even basic words like "the" were missing letter. I can't tell you how annoying it is to keep trying to figure out why they are saying "he" or "te". It took a lot of time for me to decipher a lot of passages because of the misspelled words. In addition to driving the grammar nazi in me crazy, some of the sections were so jumbled I couldn't even read them. I had to skip large sections of the book because it was impossible to figure out where one sentence ended and the next began. There were times when I had to skip three or four pages just to pick up a sentence but half the time I didn't have the patience to keep searching. Without a doubt this is the absolute worst kindle version of any book I have ever bought. The book itself is very helpful and well written but whoever edited this book made it unreadable.

Kindle version
By RileyXO
Rented the kindle version for a class I'm currently taking. Contrary to the other comment, I have only found a few typos and none of which caused any confusion while reading the chapters (you can always report content error) so don't let that discourage you. The book is well structured and is pretty interesting. Happy reads, all! :)

It's in poor condition
By Ho Chi Him
I know that buying a used item should not have so much expectations on the quality. And the book is truly the same as the description which there is no words or highlight in the books. Yet, the back of the book has clearly been wet and there are even molds in some of the pages.
